Allergic reaction to peotein drink

Recommended Posts

What kind of reaction are you having?

I don't use any artificial sweeteners at all. I drink Water or herbal tea. I use a very good quality whey isolate Protein Powder (BioChem) that is soy free, 99% lactose free, gluten free, and has no added sugars or artificial sweeteners/flavors. I get it at sprouts and add it to my smoothies, yoghurt, Soups, Beans, just about anything.

Getting rid of the sweet tooth is a real help with avoiding temptations later. For me, a piece of fruit tastes so sweet it is amazing - I almost feel guilty!

Yeah, found that out for myself, in the infinite stupidity my local Wal-Mart deleted Musselmans unsweetened applesauce off their shelves. I said to ME -Frustr8 old girl you used to like jars of cinnamon Applesauce back beyond. Looked them over, picked one with less than 16 calories, remembered there is 18 calories in a teaspoon of "over refined. & bad for you "white sugar so rationalized may still be Okay. One teaspoon and I spit it out in the trash. So cloyingly sweet I could not stand it, if Tomkitten will eat it, fine, otherwise it's going to be dumped out and I'll send the jar with the recycle stuff Might as well like a spoonful of honey!!

Thank you all very much ,I was drinking premium Protein from sam's club .then I realized I was getting the same reaction from the sugar free Jello and puddings .I picked up a protein during with no artificial sweeteners and it's working for me .but I dont know the guidelines for post- op foods without artificial sweeteners. I just waiting on my dietitian and my doctor.
Again thank you all[emoji5]

The guidelines for post op foods without artificial sweeteners? Just don't use them. That stuff is poison, in my way of thinking.

You'll find most Protein powders have some kind of sweeteners to make the flavor

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
