Band tightening while running???

Recommended Posts

Ok this is going to sound really strange. But I've been working on running lately, doing the couch to 5k.

Anyway today I ran at 4.2 mph on the treadmill for 5 minutes, then it all started. I started drooling/sliming and then the puking started. Considering it was first thing in the morning the only thing I had in me was Water. I felt like my band was really really tight.

So I stopped to puke and then just layed in bed for an hour and sipped a hot cup of tea. I felt fine afterwards and my band seemed to lossen up.

Has this happened to anyone?

I've been working out for the past 6 weeks with no problems until now. Cardio is either biking or the treadmill.

Thanks,

Leena

you know that has happened to me. I thought it was because I was just really out of shape, and I was spitting up what I called "lung Butter" I didn't even have Water in me when it happened. It was towards he end of my workout and I thought I was just tired and working too hard....huh.....

I was banded only a month ago, but before my band, I worked out so hard I almost wanted to puke. It might of just been too much on the intensity. You get in the zone, but sometimes it is a little much for our body. Walking, and bicycling are not as bad as running. I could walk for 1 hour at the gym before no problem. But put me on the stairmaster for 5 minutes, and I was gonna pass out. Def. ask your, doc. But it sounds like your workout might of been really intense.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
