So i had my third follow up today and I've loss 4lbs in two weeks. im 7 weeks out and only lost 15lbs since surgery. im told I'm not eating enough of calories and should be eating 1000 to 1200 by now and this is why I'm slow to lose. That's alot to consume. i plan on getting that by protien shakes mainly because she told me focus only on protien and vegetables. anyone who said this is the easy way, told a huge fib because this is by far not easy and I don't know how im going to manage more because I'm so full for so long. Today, I ate about 2 oz of salmon and about 4 pieces of broccoli florets for lunch at 12:30, my appointment wasn't until 3:50 and i was still full. i tried to drink a bit in between but that was a task. there's got to be a better way, any suggestions?

Hi, I know its frustrating. ITS NOT EASY. Im about 3.5 weeks out and stalled 10 days ago at 16 pound lost since surgery. I keep seeing everywhere its normal and just to hang on and it will pick up again. One thing Im glad I did was my body measurements. The scale hasnt moved in 10 days but im still losing inches. Did you measure yourself? Try that now!

No I haven't measured, funny you should say that, I asked the folk in the doc office today do they measure. I will definitely do that tho. I am a bit frustrated cuz I honestly thought I would've been further out with the weight loss by now. im doing what i think is right, I've changed a few things since being on this forum and getting advice BUT THE scale ISN'T WORKING WITH ME. im going to keep at it and like i told my doc today when she sees me in 2 months, I'll be under 230!! hopefully far under😁

Hi I am almost 7 weeks out too and have only lost 15 lbs since surgery. It's been hard. My drs only want me on Protein, no veggies or fruits. I asked again at my appt yesterday and they said not until 5 months out. I don't have a hard time eating though and that scares me. They told me I was loosing slow and to up my cardio even more. I know how you feel and wanted you to know I am slowly losing too.

I literally just posted about the same thing- going to the doctor and being told that I should be eating between 1000-1200 calories a day and drinking 64oz of liquids. If not then my body will hold on to the weight. Another task is getting in 40 minutes of intense cardio in 3-4 times a week . If I follow these "suggestions" then I should be losing between 1.5-2lbs a week.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
