I had the sleeve last August and my only real problem is continued pain management for my severe arthritis. Between the sleeve no longer allowing me to take NSAIDs and my warfarin also limiting things, I am aching all over. The steroid injections no longer help in my knees, my primary recommended Tylenol arthritis but it did nothing and a UK doctor prescribed Co-Codamol which is basically Tylenol with codeine. None of it helps. I do the stretching and exercises daily, use muscle runs, supplements that supposedly help joints and.frankly none work as well.as my old Naproxen (Aleve) used to, other than hydrocodone, which I discovered when prescribed post-OP and which isn't really suitable for long term use. The pain is definitely wearing on me. Anyone have suggestions?

I was told I could occasionally take ibuprofen. I, too, have arthritis and agree it works best. Tylenol just doesn't cut it.

Right now I have got gout in my left toe and have been limping and it has caused bad right knee pain. Unless one has arthritis, they don't know the aching pain.

I wish you well!

I use Diclofenac cream on my knees and Tylenol. My surgeon doesn't allow ibuprofen for his RNY patients. Don't know about his sleeve patients, but I seriously doubt he allows it for sleeves either. I know how debilitating knee arthritis is. You've got my sympathy!

I use a tens device on my knees and my lower back. I haven't had surgery yet so I do have the benefit of my Meloxicam(Mobic) right now but i've been looking for other alternatives for post-op.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
