1 Year Post Op - What are you eating?

Recommended Posts

I'm just curious to see what other people's diets are like. I've been careless lately and I've decided to motivate myself! So I wanna see what other people do for each meal to get good ideas! c:

Also, if you have any good recipes to make Protein Shakes taste amazing, feel free to share! I've added about two spoonfuls of low fat ice cream and that helps a lot! I'm super picky so I'd really appreciate more ideas of how to make the shakes enjoyable. c:

I've lost about 100 pounds c: I still need another 100 to get to my goal! I hope you all are doing great progress too!

My surgeon tells me I should still be taking 2 shakes a day. So I've just been following that. 😄

That's a great idea! Thanks! I'll take a look at all of those!

I was very stringent for the first couple months.. then started to allow myself to experiment with different less healthy stuff which in turn kind of had me off track for a few months.. didnt stop losing.. but I went into my dr last Thursday and they said I wasnt fully meeting expectations.. which I sort of knew.. but didnt want to admit it..

after the appointment I've made a drastic change back to a pretty low carb low calorie diet somewhere around 1000 -1300 calories a day.. and cutting out all of the junk foods I was eating.. it's only been 5 days since then but I've seen good results so far.. down 8 1/2 lbs since last Thursday give or take. Oh.. I had surgery on the 22nd of October of last year so it's been almost six months.

Highest weight : 496
Surgery weight : 476
Current weight : 381

I'm kinda curious what type of Protein Shakes you're drinking that would even need the ice cream added to it. Thats a new one I haven't seen people doing. Like Premier Protein already tastes like melted ice cream to me. I hope the low fat ice cream is also a low sugar/high Protein One (like Halo Top) otherwise you're just adding unnecessary calories.

My Breakfast is either eggs or Oikos Triple Zero yogurt. lunch is usually a P3 and raw veggies with hummus or a dip made from greek yogurt. I'll have a Quest Protein Bar in the afternoon as a snack. dinner is lean meat like chicken or ground turkey. Before bed I usually have a rice cake with PB2.

Yeah, I don't know that adding ice cream to your Protein Shakes is a good way to help you lose weight. I use the Low/Zero Carb Isopure Protein, and I add a packet of stevia to each scoop to help with the flavor, and I drink it ice cold. I like it that way.

Breakfast - 1 egg and a few bacon

lunch - grilled chicken breast with a slice of cheese and light mayo

snack - Protein Shake

dinner - 1 slice of Ezekiel bread, 1 egg, cheese

Snack - if hungry, I'll have sugar free Jello

I also eat 1-2 pieces of dark chocolate a day - I'm not giving that up lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
