June 2019 sleevers

  • Popular Post

So, I just but the bullet, (like 8 minutes ago!) and sent the deposit for my surgery. I’ll be heading off on the 16th for surgery on the 18th :) I’ve got a couple of trips away between now and then that my husband has been looking forward to for months and I didn’t want him to miss out otherwise I’d have booked for an earlier date, but hopefully those trips will make the time speed up a bit. Bring it on :)

My surgery is scheduled for the 28th. I’m still trying to get all my stuff together for post surgery. I don’t even know where to begin!

I just got home from the hospital. Surgery went smooth. Gas pain is the worst part. But at least I'm home

Just got my date today. Scheduled for 6/4. It took over a year but I made it this far and am glad to join the June club. ☺️

Good luck to both of you. Make sure you do a ton of research. I think if I did, I probably wouldn’t have done it.

just know you will need to take Vitamins forever. And when they say Protein is important, it is it you won’t be healthy and could get t sick.

It gets hard to eat and think of protein constantly

Just be very very prepared

good luck

Purplegirl, I've read your comment a couple of times but haven't searched. I'd love to know the cons. I want to be aware. In my case my decision probably won't change as I have health issues now from being obese for so long, plus harder to workout, less energy. So I would probably have to do this as a health issue, but is it that you could have done keto instead? Or you weren't in critical health? Or I'd love to hear more about the cons from you. From your stats it seems that you weren't too big to start? Did you have obesity health issues as well?

I’m another 6/4’er. Which surgery are you having?

My date is June 3rd, 2019 ~~ following your thread and excited to see everyone's progress :)

I’m also June 3rd-

I am extremely nervous. More so than I was for scheduled c-Sections. I think it’s the anesthesia and surgery process itself that wakes me up at night and keeps me awake.

Wishing you luck on the 3rd and a great first week.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery. The surgery and anesthesia was always the easy part as I was asleep, it is the get-up and move part that scares me. I had the lap band 11 years ago and that was one of my first surgeries. Since then it has unfortunately become a yearly event this last couple of years. Keep us posted and I'll wish for the best for you.

Well I have been a member on here since February and I have really enjoyed lingering here nightly following everyone stories both pre and post surgery. Now it's time for me, two days out (5 June). But due to being member of this site I feel really good about Wednesday. Reading other's sharing their stories has help prepare me both mentally and physically. Thanks WLS family, meet you on the other side.

Good luck on your upcoming surgery, you got this and you can do this.

You've got this!
Update: everything went well today, was actually up and walking the halls about two hours after getting in my room. Don’t get me wrong the pain  can be real. Especially the gas pain, but you know who told me what do when that happens? My WLC family here, so I got my butt up and started walking . It worked. Thank from the  bottom of my heart...   good night
One last thing you’re going to need that chapstick.. lesson learned .

No one told u that u have to walk a lot to feel better. I walked a lot the first day. The next day I must have walked over 3 hours on and off. Went home, felt perfect. Gotta walk after any surgery to get better

Congrats! Indeed, there is a wealth of information here. My surgery is 6/18. I already have in my head that I'm going to walk away the pain.

Just got my date!!! June 25th!
