June 2019 sleevers

  • Popular Post

So, I just but the bullet, (like 8 minutes ago!) and sent the deposit for my surgery. I’ll be heading off on the 16th for surgery on the 18th :) I’ve got a couple of trips away between now and then that my husband has been looking forward to for months and I didn’t want him to miss out otherwise I’d have booked for an earlier date, but hopefully those trips will make the time speed up a bit. Bring it on :)

My surgery is scheduled for the 28th. I’m still trying to get all my stuff together for post surgery. I don’t even know where to begin!

I just got home from the hospital. Surgery went smooth. Gas pain is the worst part. But at least I'm home

Just got my date today. Scheduled for 6/4. It took over a year but I made it this far and am glad to join the June club. ☺️

I'm so excited! My surgery date is 6/18 for VSG.

I'm scheduled for 6/17 and I see by your profile you're also in MA! Are you having it in Boston?

Yes! I'm having surgery at BMC with Dr. Pernar. What about you?

I'm at St Elizabeth's in Brighton with Dr Pecquex. Small world! :)

I have been scheduled for June 17 and insurance approval has been sent off. Here is to hoping they approve (I don't know why they wouldn't), and then surgery date will be set in stone!

Have you guys bought anything for post surgery? I have no idea what to stock up on! I wish someone made a list lol

I got my vitamins and supplements, Gatorade zero, protein drinks, sugar free popsicles, and sugar free jello/pudding. Anybody else want to add to the list?

I need to get jello yet, but I'd add beef and chicken broth. I bought decaf coffee, herbal tea and crystal light. I also picked up some small containers, a new lunchbox for going back to work, and several shot-glass sized measuring cups.
I'm having mine on June 5th. I got insurance approval back in March, but I had a bunch of things coming up that would have gotten in the way. So, I'm sitting here, anxious as can be. All the insurance hoops you have to jump through are annoying. If I hadn't had to do that, I would have had it last year when I was just under my out of pocket max. It would have cost me 300 bucks total. Oh well, moving forward, just a few more weeks. Good luck everyone.
Mine is two days after. Congratulations!

Good luck! My last appointment is in June. Then I will have met the requirements.

May good fortune shine your way and speed your surgery date! You may be one of our Summer ❤s!

I'm from the south so I'm making decaf ice tea. I could drink that all day and usually do. I have taste tested the recommended protein drinks. I bought one that said cafe mocha, wow it had caffeine, lots. I can't take sugar substitutes so they said drink low sugar protein drinks. There are several really good ones with 30 g of protein each. I was going to order some clear protein drinks. I remember when I had the band, I don't think I touched chicRemembken broth for years after that. Remember liquids in, liquids out so don't move slow.

Happy to say I will be a member of the June sleevers ! I live in Indiana. So excited!

My list is: Sugar-free pudding and sugar free jello, Protein20 flavored waters, Gatorade zero, cream soups, chicken broth, sugar free popsicles, unflavored protein powder (to mix in pudding, jello, soups...etc), Two Good greek yogurts, Ricotta cheese, 2oz disposable containers (so I can prep stuff before surgery and throw in the fridge), small fork/spoon set, Flinstones Chewables, Calcium citrate chewables, herbal teas. That should get me through my two weeks of "full liquids" (yes, yogurt and ricotta is on my "full liquids" list) and beyond...

I also bought a new blender to can puree the heck out of anything and everything. ;) I still have to figure out how to pack food for work, but I took two weeks off and I'm working two weeks remote after that so I have some time to decide what to do.
