Walk, walk and walk to help with gas. I don’t k ow how mobile you are but walk as much as you can. They had me walking that afternoon, the next day I must have walked for over an hour at one point, I made it a game. Every time I passed my room I’d take a sip of Water. Made it easier.

i can’t say it enough walk. When you get home. Do the same. Get up every 10 minutes and talk a walk around the house, keep doing that and I promise you won’t have gas. It worked for me,

Hi everyone,

My VSG was exactly 2 weeks ago. I was up and walking that night, and did a lot of walking through the night (only thing that really helped the gas pain).

I was discharged the next afternoon, and stopped pain meds on post-op day 2. Following surgeon and nutritionist plans, I transitioned to non-liquid Protein a few days ago. Can’t eat more than 1-2 oz of food at a time.

Hope everyone is doing great!

My surgery is on July 30. I had the lap band 9 years ago so I'm familiar with what to expect, but this will be far invasive. I am excited, scared, but will take this one day at a time, then come surgery I have faith and confidence in my doctor. He did the band, band removal, so we have history.

That's great @Sandra Nuelken, I'm glad you have history and faith & confidence in your doctor. Wishing you the best!

I had surgery 6/5 and still haven't lost 10lbs! I am losing inches. I just wondered if anyone had anything to say or any suggestions to give. I am getting my Protein and Water in with no problem. Plus I am walking 10k steps a day.

What does your surgeon say?

He said it was normal! Now I am up to 12 lbs lost and today makes 2 months. I really don't feel that it's normal. I feel better and I am happy about inches lost, I just think I should have lost more weight. I am 56 so I thought it might be my age.

If your surgeon isn't worried and you are following his/her instructions, I wouldn't worry. Let the tool do its work and walk, walk, walk! Good luck to you!

Update, my stomach is healed, I yin and Yang with diet and diabetes. I am on the upside my weight is 223 from 289 and I hope my 240 stall is finally over. Ozempic helped manage my A1c a lot and had a neat side effects of feeling nausea which helps me control hunger and has helped my weight loss.

I am hopeful to hit the 219-210 in the new year and will need to start buying clothes to offset my weight loss, I want to follow a minimalist perspective moving forward. I begin p90x again in Jan to tone up and keep the losses coming. I got a small dog and walking him 3 x a day has been super helpful!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
