Too many liquids?

Recommended Posts

I am 6 months out and I still find myself going more towards the liquids. I am eatting a lot of Soups and things such as that.... I do eat solids yet I seem to enjoy drinking my meals more then eating them. I think it is because I can have more of the liquid then the solids... So does anyone else find themselves doing this?

And I thought I was the only one. When I went from liquids to mushies, I still had broth at times. I am finally almost over them though, but on occasion I still have broth when I dont want to cook.

Not liquids so much but easy foods, yes.

I eat a lot of Soup, becuase I like it and its such a healthy way to get veges into you and its hot and satisfying at lunch time. Strangely though I have to eat soup quite carefully, I block up on it, I think its liquids and solids together, like drinking with a meal. Because generally I'll only eat home made soup, not canned stuff.

But when I track calories and choose healthy solid foods, I struggle to make 1200 whereas with my general, not thinking about it choices (which includes too many cookies), I'm easily at 1500 to 1800 - fine for maintenance for me, but I'd like to lose a little more, so too much to achieve that.

I think in one form or another, its a bad habit that most bandsters develop to some degree and you have to constantly remind yourself to choose well. Because a lot of the easier options I choose are certainly healthy enough, but I just can eat more when I eat them.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
