So I was just curious if anyone else was experiencing what I am currently experiencing. So during the classes everyone said that I had to be careful after surgery because your body doesn't realize that it can't handle what it used to. However I feel like my body knew right away because I AM NEVER HUNGRY and when I say never I mean NEVER. In fact I feel as though the thought of eating makes me nauseous. I could drink all day till the cows come home but eating is a whole other story. Maybe its because it takes so long or that I'm sooooooo tired all the time but like is or has anyone else experienced/experiencing this? Does this get better?

If i don't smoke weed i have no appetite. Even with it it takes forever for me to eat most times. Thinking of stopping for a while so i can lose this 40lb regain. Most people get their hunger back with time. But mine hasn't been as strong since surgery. I take it as a gift and just eat when i'm hungry and try not to when i'm not.

I wasn't hungry at first either. I just made sure I got my liquids and Protein in. Your appetite will increase eventually. Some days I still can go a whole day without eating.

Consider yourself lucky. While you're not hungry you can lose most weight just make sure you get your Protein and Water and you're fine

it eventually comes back for almost everyone - sometime within the first year. Mine came back at five months out. Take full advantage of this "feature" now and lose as much weight as you can, because things will get A LOT harder when your hunger/appetite comes back!

We had surgery the same day.....I have the same feeling but I do eat. I have started to try to eat 4 times a day (but really it's just 3 meals/snack but the meals aren't super big)-- I Just eat what I can. After the scale stopped moving for about oh two weeks it started moving again this week when I changed how I was eating and tried to up my calories a tiny bit.

Are you on soft foods or what stage are you at?

I've been mostly drinking Protein Water and regular water since surgery. The problem I've ran into with that is Constipation from the Protein Drinks. I just started adding about a half can of spinach twice a day and now it's all good. I get my protein, water, Vitamins and now veggies to keep things regular. I have no hunger either, I just want to feel good and know I'm taking in what's necessary to be healthy. I'm sure the hunger will come back and I'll have to deal with that when the time comes.

Just the one can of spinach is all I'm really eating right now. I got tired of the other stuff not staying down but I will add a little bit as I go in the future.

Oh wow....sorry you were having such problems. If I ever see another Protein Shake again UGH. I am trying to avoid them. But I know some days I just cannot eat enough Protein and I have to drink one. But so far so good today- no protein shake shall be needed!! LOL......

I threw up three times so far , so I get the not staying down- but all three times I knew what I did. 1- brussel sprouts- while soft and delicious, I ate too fast and I thnk they were just too much to digest this early 2- string cheese not chewed properly and was sort of stuck and 3- just eating too fast and too much of dinner a few nights ago .....live and learn :)

The reasons you mentioned are probably the same reason I've had trouble keeping regular food down. I have a hard time eating slow and chewing my food until it's mush before swallowing. I'm sure I'll figure it out. Until then, I just keep sipping the Protein Water. I get plenty of water, that's one good thing.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
