Everyone seems different.....I was back at work after 1 week, pretty low energy week 2 and then week 3 it was like a superpower....my energy is through the roof and I'm more energetic and active than I ever thought possible.

i had that problem as well...instead of letting it get really bad and possibly ending up at hospital i got myself a myers cocktail iv. there are places everywhere nowadays that do it for a reasonable price and even come to your home and do it right there. felt so much better after. getting one of those now every 4 weeks and it makes all the difference to me

This may sound crazy, but I started focusing on my Water and less on my Protein and I feel way better. I try to get in 64 oz of plain water, and can usually still get in 50-60 G protein (but I don’t count them towards my Fluid goal. However, that’s all I can get in. I’m 9 days post op.

Are you dehydrated? Urine pale yellow or lighter?

Hi there,

This is my 1st message. I am 11 days post up. I have lost 30 pds but I am totally exhausted. I do 3 Protein Shakes a day and 1 cup of yogurt and drink Water. Just no energy I star back to work tomorrow.

thanks

It's normal so early on to feel exhausted because of the low calorie intake. Based on your current meals of 3 shakes and a yogurt, you're at about 700 calories which is truly not enough for the human body to function like normal. I had 2 1/2 weeks off and got back to work, I was dead tired by the end of the work day, and I have a office job (wish i could have taken more time off). When I moved to pureed foods it helped and brought in a few more calories and started adapting. It also takes a few weeks for your body to adjust to the lower intake. Hang in there.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
