Almost two weeks post op from revision band to rny

Recommended Posts

Thursday is to weeks . I’m technically on thick and pureed so I’ve been loading down with Protein . I have no issues getting Fluid or food in . Down about 13lbs. I hope I’m doing it right and hope to move on to soft foods on Thursday . I had a Protein Shake I made with a scoop of Premier Protein, 1 cup of fair life skim milk and a tablespoon of pb 2 powder.today . Then I ate lunch ; some goat cheese and some turkey bean chili I made last night that I puréed for myself for lunch . I made sausage and shrimp jambalaya tonight for my family and only tried a couple bites of meat and chewed until mush . Plenty of fluid . I ate boiled egg white yesterday even through technically on the soft food phase and mushed it in my mouth and it was fine going down . The only difference I’ve noticed from revision is that I’m not stuck from a top right hand and I feel like I feel every bit of food traveling through my intestines like left to right . It doesn’t hurt just strange . I’m guessing that’s normal . Does this sound like I’m doing ok ?

I am band to RNY 8/6 and doing very well. What's strange for me is NO restriction or feeling full but just following the rules. I don't have the feelings you have but do hear my "gut"rumble sometimes when food is passing through. The best of luck to you❣️❣️❣️

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
