Guys... (and Gals!)...

I can run. Like one of those fit people you see running on the side of the road. Except the fit part of course. But still I’m RUNNING. It’s been years. I knew I missed running, but the absolute feeling of accomplishment I have is insane! Now admittedly I can’t do it for very long, but I’m okay with that! Today I ran 2.12 miles in 30 minutes. Not impressive to normal joggers but for me that’s AMAZING.

I am having a very proud NSV and I hope everyone else is having a good night!

I think that is very impressive. YOU GO GIRL!! Right now (haven't had the surgery yet, hoping for around the first of the year) my goal is to walk around the block without wanting to drop like a fly. Stay strong and keep the good work.:)

we will cheer them on@ AggiG but I will also be on the sidelines . But I have to hope I'll be sounder-winded and be able make laps without having to stop, Until then I am in the "Drop like a Fly" contingent, with you. And since I have a bad ankle, that didn't get surgery I can get up on my toes to run, but I still will be the Frustr8 I can be, this I promise. At 72 you have choose your battles and choose them well. 😛💖😛

Congrats to you. I couldn't run 2 miles at all so it is quite an accomplishment.

That’s fantastic. Hoping once I’m able to walk more successfully I’ll be able to start running again. Good for you!

That is exciting and impressive!! Thanks for sharing your inspirational NSV!!! I can’t wait to feel healed enough to start C25K! Jogging/running and doing races is one of the things I’m most excited about on this journey!!

I'm so proud of you! My best friend runs 5-8 miles every day and I want to run with her sooo bad. Too heavy still, but I'm pushing my endurance on an elliptical stepper right now. I hope so much I will be able to put my footies on hard ground and run some day soon.

Congrat's to you. That is a great accomplishment. I hope to one day do the same but just walking still kills my back now. Will hopefully work up to it one day. Good luck to you on training for the 5K.

Thank you everyone! For those of you waiting on your surgery, it is SO worth it!

Being able to run and not being in pain (other than the soreness you get from just being active because holy f*** my thighs be BURNING) has done wonders for my sense of self. I am so energized and motivated by this accomplishment 😊

I am so happy for you! I remember when I was fit and used to go to the gym 4 days a week. I miss my fit self, but life got the better of me. Definitely take it slow. Before you know it, you will be running a 5K. Just remember that some days you feel amazing and can run so much, others you will just be exhausted and be like "f" this. It usually helped when I ate a carb before running. Congratulations!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
