Any type I diabetics out there?

Recommended Posts

I am a T1 and have been for 46 years. I am on an insulin pump and use the continuous glucose monitor system.I am contemplating having the sleeve done I said I wanted to meet with 3 surgeons then decide which one. I am very pre op considering I don't have a surgeon or date. I anticipate first of next year. I will have to do counseling prior. My concern is my blood sugar dropping too low. I am curious about post op people and what does their diet consist of once they are able to eat. I will be on here often so I can't wait to see the replies and continue to learn. Have a great night.

I'm not a T1 I am a T2 but I am insulin dependent. Our plan is to lower my insulin in-take the night before I start my 2 week liquid diet. Once the surgery is done we will go from there.

I will do that. Just to let you know I probably won't be scheduled for surgery until sometime at the end of the year.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
