Very New

Hey!

I'm new around here and thought I'd say hello! I've been on the fence about WLS for years but figured it was time to make some changes when my doctor brought it up at my last appointment. I've spoken to my insurance and they've stated that WLS is covered and I have a consult with a surgeon next week. I really hope I'm approved, am covered financially, and actually get to have WLS (gotta be specific with your prayers, right?). For the first time in a while I feel hopeful about my future and the goals that have seemed so far out of reach for so long.

I look forward to talking with y'all on this journey!

I had my consultation this morning and per my insurance, I need to do a 4 month diet along with the psych evaluation and lab work for approval. The surgeon recommended me for the RNY which wasn't my first choice but I guess it makes sense considering the amount of weight I need to lose and my lifestyle. Overall, I'm excited for the process, even with my birthday being in the middle of the 4 months.

Congrats on getting scheduled! I feel your pain with the birthday thing....my ESG is scheduled for 9/25....my birthday is 9/29!

Congrats on getting your date! I don't have a date quite yet but fingers crossed I get one. Just think, you'll be giving yourself a wonderful birthday present: the start of a new chapter.

I know! Hope you get your date soon too! They were going to schedule me for 9/14 but that was1 day after the season opener for the Bengals (we have season tickets) and there was no way I was going to be on clear liquids during that game! Lol! ? The rest of the season....sure! But give me one last game. Priorities you know ...?
