  1. Checking in... I'm finally under 300 lbs. Depression hit and I lost myself from Sep-Dec and ate and drank whatever and how much my pouch allowed. I stalled hard but the scale finally moved once I got it together. My 1 yr post-op appointment is today and while I wanted to be around 275 or less, I'll take this 296.8 and be proud of how far I've come since I saw the scale hit 420. 2. Checking in since it's been a while. I'm 110 lbs down from my highest weight and 102 lbs down from surgery. I'm almost out of the 300s and I can't believe it. I've been out of commission since I sprained my ankle in July but I'm feeling like I can finally get back in the gym so I can lose the next 100+ lbs. Having my RNY almost 9 months ago truly changed my life. It's so hard and I've had several rough months, but I'm determined to get to Onederland and stay there. 3. I'm currently in the 350s and hope to be out of them soon. I haven't been in the 350s in almost 4 years. This is wild lol. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Questions for all of you that are post-op!!!

    1. I used a pill cutter as some were huge. The pills themselves weren't difficult but drinking water with them was rough in the beginning. The vitamins I take now are all chewable which is a plus. 2. EGD and bloodwork after approval. I had 4 nutritionist appointments and 1 psych eval prior to. 3. Listening to your stomach, consistently eating 5-6 small meals a day, getting your protein in, getting your fluid in, paying close attention to food you don't prepare yourself, taking ALL of your vitamins daily. It's an adjustment, for sure, but so worth it, IMO. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Jan 2019 bypass buddies

Hello everyone, I had my RNY on 1/23/2019 and am down about 48 lbs. Most days I'm doing pretty well, but then I'll have days where I just want a real taco or a glass of wine and I'll start feeling down. Luckily, those days are few. Except wanting a taco. I want a taco daily lol. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. My highest weight was 420/421 and my surgery weight was 412. I'm now around 364 after hitting a stall at 375 that had me freaking out a bit. Just seeing 364 on a scale is mindblowing after not being in the 300s for so long. My 3 month post-op visit with my surgeon is this Thursday I'm hoping to have lost 50 lbs by that appointment though my official 3 month post-op date is on the 23rd. NSVs include wearing shoes that I couldn't years ago, moving into 3X clothing, and feeling (but not yet seeing) my collarbone. This whole process is still surreal. I hated being in the 300s but I'm so happy to be here now and will continue to work until I'm in the 200s. Who knows, I may even hit onederland! Congratulations, ladies, for continuing to smash your goals and don't forget to reap those Non-Scale Victories! Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. I had RNY in late January and have been able to eat regular food again for about a month. I rarely eat out anymore so I'm always surprised at how large the portions are. This was the Fit Fare veggie skillet from Denny's. 390 cals for the entire meal and kind of carb heavy due to the potatoes but this will last me for a few days. I'll add some grilled chicken during later meals for more protein. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Tummy

I'm almost 3 weeks out and I feel liquid go straight down still. It's a weird and uncomfortable feeling, but it goes away quickly enough. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. I've been struggling since starting soft foods. It takes me forever and a day to get in one bottle of water and having to wait 30 minutes to eat something that may or may not come up is taking it's toll. I'd rather drink my meals at this point but my surgeon said no more protein shakes at this point and to try eating. It's frustrating because I know I'm dehydrated and getting 60-80 grams of protein in seems all but impossible at this point without at least one shake. I'm going to call my surgeon and let him know my concerns but do y'all have any tips? Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Struggling

Thank you for the advice, I'm going to try watering down protein water. I haven't tried the reminders...didn't know that was an option on the FitBit. I use MyFitnessPal to track my water intake. My hospital gave me some cups with fl oz levels on them plus 1 oz cups. I also have some small 9 oz cups. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

  14. Hello there, I had my RNY on the 23rd and was discharged yesterday so I've been home a full 24 hours. Liquids are going down fine, minimal nausea, though the thought of chewing real foods again makes me tired. I SEVERELY underestimated how much pain I'd be in but it's manageable. I had a hiatal hernia repaired and my gallbladder removed so those are sources of pain as well. My primary issue? Gas. I've never wanted to pass gas so much in my life. It's also a sentence I never thought I'd type but here I am. I was told by my nurse not to be surprised if I didn't have a bowel movement until this weekend and I honestly wanted to cry. I've been walking and it does help it move the gas but it's moving up and not out. I was also told that milk of magnesia may help but I feel like that is a last resort. Any suggestions? I just wanna fart. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    2 Days Post-Op

Day 4 post-op for the win! I finally passed gas. No bowel movement but I'm not too worried about that right now. Going to start protein shakes today and I'll see how that gets my bowels rolling. Still very sore across my upper abdomen but it's gotten better. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    2 Days Post-Op

I was worried about sleeping on my side because I thought I'd pull something but I'm willing to try anything at this point. I'm learning that broth helps the gas move, fingers crossed that it decides to move out. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
