Recommended Posts

Day 1 post op I'm super sore.. the pain meds are helping but everytime I take them I vomit.. its making my stomache feel even tighter... I'm walking but it still hurts like crazy to get up on my own.. I feel so weak. I'm trying my best to do all liquid diet which consist of sugar free Jello which isnt bad but I can only eat like 2-3 spoon. The crystal light lemonade oh boy.. the smell just turn my cheek I skip that.. The chicken broth is alright.. They just bought me dinner.. hopefully its beef broth.. Pray for my recovery

Sorry you're feeling so bad. If you're still in the hospital, they should be able to give you IV pain meds or IV nausea meds so that you can take the oral pain meds. 2-3 spoons of the Jello is about right. You just don't have much room in there. Don't worry, it will get better!

I hope you feel better soon. My surgeon did a patch behind my ear for nausea and it made the world of difference for me. I did have a heck of a time pushing liquids and ended up back at the ER a week afterwards because I became dehydrated. So if you can tolerate it, sip as much as you can. Hang in there.

Hang in there, I had surgery on the 21st and am still in the hospital as well. Horrible nausea and can’t keep anything down. I guess this happens to some people. I was sure I’d be home by now but will not let this little Detour get me down. I’d rather they keep me here so i don’t end up in the er dehydrated. My surgeon said that it’ll eventually pass and I’ll be fine.. so I’m in the same boat hanging on

thank you.. I just went for a walk which help a lot.. Hopefully they will discharge me tomorrow.. But I'm in the same boat.. cant drink or eat anything much.. They said they will take me off the fluids if I did 5 medicine cup of Jello in 2 hours. I only could do 2 😿 lets hang in there!!! Fighting!!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
