So I did great with getting my liquids and protein until yesterday. All of a sudden I couldn’t keep anything down. Not even water. No nausea or feeling like crap. No pains or fever or anything. Well, hiccups. Lots of those. But every time I sipped anything, I would salivate like crazy for 20 minutes and then it popped right back up. It never felt like it got to my stomach; rather it was like it got lodged in my upper chest. When it came back up, there were no stomach contractions or stomach acid.
So here I am, in the ER. I’m going to be getting some IV fluids and a CT scan. My DO here thinks it’s most likely esophageal swelling where the esophagus meets the new pouch, and the CT scan will show that. I’m sure I’m in for lots of waiting, but I’ll be glad to have this figured out! I’m thirsty and honestly more annoyed than anything. Lol.
Keep you guys posted.
