Hey everyone, its beginning of month number two for me, so far I'm 20 pounds down... I'm running out of ideas of meals. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. i currently haven't been able to do Protein Shakes due to my body rejecting supplements:/ so that is why i constantly need ideas of ways to replace items with Protein but still balance out my other nutrients. Any ideas/ help would be greatly appreciated!!!

How does your body reject supplements ?

Protein Shakes are food. Unless youre lactose intolerant or allergic to dairy, I dont know what this means

But you dont need to eat Protein shakes. Month 2 you should be eating normal food (or eating normal food soon)

Although month 2 might mean weeks 5-6, which makes me think eggs dairy are all options. Maybe even soft tender meat

1- I’m two months into my journey, haven’t had the surgery yet.

What I mean by my body rejects supplements: I have what is called mother father mutation, it’s a blood disorder which causes my body to not properly digest supplements at which I vomit till it’s out of my system. So I can’t consume my Protein in that way.

Yikes, that makes things difficult regarding Protein intake. Is it only supplements with added Vitamins like folic acid? Or is it any form of processed protein at all?

Prawns are very high protein, eggs and milk are good for mornings. You could make yourself some baseless quiches with ham/spinach/veggies. Low calorie tinned flavoured tuna is good, as is ALDI tinned smoked rainbow trout. I season (with Italian herbs and a garlic seasoning blend) chicken legs or Marylands and cook for 4-6 hours at 165F with my ANOVA sous vide and they come out amazingly soft and delicious (and the skin stays looking soft, fatty and yucky so you don't have to fight the urge to eat crispy fatty skin).

Damn, you better have your post op plan on board now and test it out for ability to process it now. You will be in a WORLD of hurt without those supplements. I can almost guarantee as a menstruating female, you will have Iron infusions and other types of Vitamin infusions in your future without that ability to assimilate supplements post surgery -- even VSG.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
