Let's Play A Game!

I love learning new fun facts about nutrition, exercise, and health in general. Everyone post their fun facts!

  • You burn approximately 2.16 calories for every pound of body weight during 30 minutes of elliptical use. For example, a 160-pound person would burn about 345 calories during 30 minutes on the elliptical.
  • Have you heard about the Matcha craze? Out of all the antioxidants, EGCg is the most widely recognized for its cancer fighting properties. Scientists have found that Matcha Green Tea contains over 100 times more EGCg than any other tea on the market.

Keep it going!

The human brain weighs 3 lbs. :D

The longest English word you can type on a QWERTY keyboard with just your right hand is “stewardesses”

If your kid ingests a round worm egg (very common in dirt... and carried by cats, dogs, raccoons, etc)...the larvae can migrate and a worm can grow in your child's eye.

Nearly all breeds of dog can have successful pregnancies with wolves, and their offspring will be fertile.

This is because dogs are really just deformed, retarded wolves.

A 75 pound wolf has a brain case that holds about 150cc's of brain. An equal size 75 pound German Shepard has brain case that holds only about 50cc's of brain.

The qualities humans like in dogs...tail wagging, licking, submission, willingness to follow orders.......are puppy like behaviors. We've bred Peter Pan wolves who are "slow" and never grow up. Took us about 30,000 years to turn wolves into the dog breeds we have now.

Music improves your workout.
Listening to music while exercising can improve workout performance by 15%. That means that the hype playlist that you have while everyone is popping **** about your taste in music, want help you burn upwards to an additional 1 - 3 calories per minute. Which is helpful because I am now able to burn like 12 calories a minute to maximize my workout time.

I can't work out without music. I'm actually looking for new playlist ideas. If you have suggestions, send them my way!

I have a playlist for every workout. My Leg Day consists of Lady Gaga (Applause, Telephone, Paparazzi), Sia (Greatest, Cheap Thrills), Shakira (She Wolf) Destiny Childs (Bootylicious, Lose My Breathe), Fall Out Boy (Centuries, I Don't Care, My Songs Know), Linkin Park (Breaking the Habit), Fort Minor (Remember the Name) and end with some rap lol.

One mile = aprox 100 calories, no matter the speed.... if you run it you burn those 100 calories faster but walking it still burns 100 calories.

That’s not a lot of calories! Which is why they say you can’t outrun a bad diet.
