Food Restrictions

Recommended Posts

My restrictions were basically no raw veggies, fruits, nuts or seeds for three months and then to slowly introduce all textures. The surgeons nutritionist were pretty adamant that there are no forbidden foods and by doing that you revert to the old yo yo diet mentality. That the goal here was to eat Protein first- 1-3 oz. then veggies 1/2 cup and last carbs. This way you meet your nutritional goals- the restriction helps limit the amount of carbs you take it and it teaches you to eat normally. They did say that if i was incapable of stopping eating certain foods once I was full that i should take note of those and steer clear- not because they were carbs but because I’ve recognized I can eat them in a healthy manner. They were all pretty clear that the goal was to learn to eat in moderation and to allow small amounts of foods that are enjoyed as to avoid bingeing activities later on.
If i were you I would follow your surgeons instructions since they have a designed a program that works for their patients though.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
