Discouraged: Need to get back on track!

Recommended Posts

I am 3 years out and had lost 70#. My husband of 9 years divorced me 1.5 years ago. I went into depression and have eaten nothing but ice cream, Cookies, buttered popcorn, candy etc! I have regained 35# and feel so discouraged and a failure! I am sure I have streatched my stomach back out. I don’t know how to get back on track. I am right back where I started from. Would I need to have the surgery again?

I'd start by trying to be more active. Exercise is good for depression.

The sad truth is that divorce is very very common after WLS. My wife had the sleeve (her second WLS) and after plastic surgery got down to 160 pounds (from 522). With her new body she quickly found a new guy. I've spent the last two years putting my life back together. It sucks but it has to be done. I started by just going out for long walks.

Good luck.

I'm sorry for your troubles. You can get back on track again. Reset your pouch! Go back to the beginning with liquids the first week, then soft foods the next 2weeks. Going hard in the gym will help you relieve the stress that's setting you back. Concentrate on what you and Work or yourself. That's the best thing to do right now. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
