Short Bandsters

Recommended Posts

I'm 5'1" and now 165 lbs in a size 12/14. My doc said I should lose another 25-30 lbs. My goal size is 6/8. I'm trying to figure out at my height what size I would be at 135-145. Please share your stats if you're short like me. Thanks, Jeanie

i'm 5'2' and i'm just getting started. my goal on my ticker is too low. my doc told me that if i get under 120 i will look unhealthy. he said my ideal weight will be somewhere between 120 & 130 and i will just have to decide which one i am happiest with.

I'm not saying this formula works for everyone but, the guidelines for healthy weight (for women) are:

105# for 5 feet tall, add 5 pounds per inch after 5 feet. If you are large boned you can add upto 10% more

5' 3" equals 120-132#

Hi Jaz,

I am a dinky person too ( 5' 1 1/2") and what I have learnt through my years of yoyo dieting is that the older I have got the more weight I can carry and be the same dress size IYKWIM.

The last time that I was really slim I was a UK size 8 ( 16 years ago!!) but I still weighed 126lb, when I weighed that at 17 I was a UK 12/14 so I guess as we get older our bodies carry the weight differently.

To get into my IDEAL BMI I would ( going off past experience) be a UK 6/8 which I think is a size 0 in the US - that is WAAAAY to slim for me you could see all my bones when I was an 8!!!!!

I guess what I am saying is your body will adapt to this process in in its own way and you will hit the dress sizes at your own rate!

Good luck hon

NIna xx

Weight charts say i should weigh 135 but i think i look good at 150 so that is my goal, maybe a touch less. Some people can carry more than others, so it is an individual thing really. Donna

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
