Doing well. First days were a little uncomfortable due to the gas they put in you and not all comes out. Just make sure to walk as much as possible . You get excited over the small things like I had my first BM today (yeah for me) You will all will do great!!!

It was actually not bad at all. Def sore (like you got punched or worked out hard) and it felt like really bad gas pains at the top incision for me. Day 5 and I’m having much less gas pain and overall ok,

Crazy but the scale says down 7 lbs?! Not hungry at all- hard to drink everything you need to

Thank you so much. I’m just praying for no complications. I want gas to be the worst of my problems lol

Girl trust I understand. It took them 3 weeks to approve mine. I called them though and she told me I was approved before I received the letter. So call and get on they nerves lol

Lol ... I called every other day. Then the day I decided to wait & not call I got the letter.. A couple of days later the surgeon’s office called ans scheduled my 4 hour class, my pre-op appointment & my surgery all at once!! They wanted to schedule me for Jan 10 th!!’ But I need to tie up stuff at work & find someone to fill in for me so I settled on February 6th... I’m soooo excited!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
