Hi everybody! My name is Brandon. I have actually had two weight loss surgeries since 2010. At my heaviest I was 600lbs. My first surgery was the Gastric Sleeve. It did exactly what it was supposed to do. I on the other hand did not. I had lost probably close to 150lbs, but after getting discouraged from a plateau that seemed like it was never going to end and eating food I couldn't stand. I fell completely off of the wagon and started eating fast food again. I ballooned back up over 500lbs. At the time of my 2nd surgery (mini gastric bypass) I was weighing in at 526lbs. This time I got down to around 380lbs. I still wasn't doing my part. So I hovered there for over a couple of years. I would have short spurts of times I'd workout and eat healthy. They usually started before vacation and ended on vacation. I always gained the weight back. This past March I started up again. I did good until May 1st, where I got depressed due to my business taking a huge hit. I had went from just under 380 down to 355. From May 1st to June 27th I went back up to 376. I am proud to say that from June 27th to today I have went down to 313.4lbs. I eat 1200 calories a day (mostly protein) Mon-Fri and whatever I want (within reason) up to 2500 calories a day Sat-Sun. I try to workout a minimum of 5 days a week. (Sometimes I don't hit that goal, but those weeks are far and few between) Some weeks I do all 7 days. For my workouts I walk/ruck 3 miles a day. I started with one and worked my way up. When 3 became easy, I started rucking. I started with 20lbs and am now up to 50lbs. For the most part, that is what I have been doing. I have a goal I am trying to hit by Jan 1st 2018. I am trying to be 299lbs or less. It will be the first time I was below 300lbs in 14 years! My goal weight (for now) is 250lbs. I plan on focusing on building as much muscle as possible once I hit that goal. But yea, this is my story in a nutshell! I'd love to talk to or answer any questions anyone might have. I have a youtube channel that I have started with the hopes of helping others that are where I am or where I've been along my journey. I only have 4 videos at the moment. I had a real struggle with post the video I linked up top. I just uploaded it a couple of days ago, but recorded it over 2 months ago. I've actually lost about 21lbs since I recorded it. I'm not really good with the whole forum thing but will try to respond to people on here in a timely manner. (If anyone says anything lol) I am also on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter(I'm not great on twitter) Kik Messenger etc if anyone would like to talk(replies at those places are easier foir me and would be quicker)... Should be able to find me by looking for "600lbs2Beast" I do work nights, so please don't rage on me if I don't reply right away during the day. Lol Thank you for reading a bit about my story!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!
