Can't back away from iced coffee !!!

Recommended Posts

Before my sleeve surgery I HATED, DESPISED, LOATHED, anything related to coffee. The taste, the smell, the everything. And even now (16 months after surgery) I still hate it BUT for some unknown reason, I have taken a liking to iced coffee. But in actuality, it's really a sugar bomb. I go to Dunkin and get a small caramel swirl iced coffee with 6 sugars and 6 Creamers. WHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH???? With that much sugar/cream in it there's really no trace of coffee flavor in it. I can say that I don't ever drink more than half of it, usually only about 1/4-1/3 of it. But it's like my body craves those first few sips. I really need to stop as I'm sure it is stopping the weight loss. I loss 100 lbs in the first 7 months, but then have tossed around the same 6 lbs since January.

Tell me I'm not the only one who goes through this crap.

I have iced coffee and coffee. I use stevia an half and half.

I mean you know what the problem is. Decide if iced coffee is worth being obese for. I don't think it is.

You want sugar or you just want a "treat", it is better to figure out WHY you want this, that is the only way you are going to get past it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
