Smoothie and shake work arounds- sick of boring protein shakes??

Recommended Posts

So i have always been a lover of smoothies and milkshakes, they were always my guilty pleasure. But i got sick of basic super boring Protein Shakes. And for some reason Premier Protein doesn't blend well for a smoothie either. So this is what i found....

(I realize now after writing this that there's a recipe sharing section, so screw it lol)

1) i'm in love with starbucks caramel frappuccinos and macchiatos. Anything caramel coffee flavor i'm seriously obsessed with.... so i discovered this

-scoop of Syntrax latte caramel macchiatto with fair life fat free milk (it is lactose free). You can add a tbs of international delight sugar free caramel macchiato Creamer to it if needed but it should be sweet enough. I've also done this recipe with premier vanilla RTD shake instead of milk and both ways are amazing!!!! If you use fair life fat free milk you end up with 36g of Protein. If you use premier with it you end up with 53g of protein per serving. (If it's to sweet or to heavy just add a few tbs of Water to your shaker bottle)

2) for oreo milkshake or chickfila milkshake lovers

Do the same thing but sub syntrax protein for GNC pro whey powder in Cookies and cream. It's heaven.

3) smoothie lovers- i tend to make smoothies all the time in my ninja. But i ended up with a ton of premier shakes and i wanted to do something with them. I was getting bored. So my friend suggested using flavored greek yogurt (oikos tripple zero, which i hate, fage greek or chobani all work fine) and premier in a shaker cup or Blender Bottle and mix well. It kind of taste more like a fruity milkshake to me, but it's yummy too! Works out to 43g of protein per serving. (Don't use a blender for this, premier doesn't blend well)

I hope this helps anyone struggling with their liquid diet phase or anyone that just likes smoothies and shakes. Happy tuesday!!

Thanks for the ideas. I love Syntrax caramel macchiato & Cappuccino. I blend crushed ice with all of my Protein Shakes to get the added Water and make them less thick. The Premier shakes are thick by themselves but with ice they have more of a Smoothie King texture.

I love to add PB2 powder to vanilla for more of pb flavor or to chocolate for a Reeses flavor.
I use a nutribullet and I find premier blends well.
I also added cinnamon to vanilla shakes.< br>

I pour about 4 oz of Decaf cold brew over ice then pour a Premier shake over that in either vanilla or caramel and it takes just like an iced Starbucks latte with 30 g of protein.

I love PB2, but I find it's hard to mix. Do you get powered Protein or do you use a liquid? I'm not big on mixing shakes, do you add those ingredients w/ just ice?

I've not had trouble with the Premier blending improperly. My fave is a Premier caramel shake, a cup of coffee, a couple of squirts of sugar free caramel and chocolate syrups (l order Torani coffee house style syrups) and ice for a 30g Protein frappucino.

I like to take chocolate Protein Powder, fairlife chocolate 2% milk, caramel SF Syrup and PB2 and ice for a snickers shake.

Lately, I've been using coconut milk, frozen tropical fruit (about 3/4 cup) and coconut syrup with a scoop of vanilla protein powder for a tropical shake.

Really? Anytime i try to put premier in a blender or nutribullet with fruit to make a smoothie it always had a weird texture afterwards. For me at least it separates and just won't mix. Great recipe idea though!!! I'm going to try it.

I'm at day 5 post op and can't handle another shake. Does LiquaCel replace the Protein - If so what other nutrients will I need?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
