I doubt they will let you put it back in, or even let you wear a retainer while you are an inpatient. It could be dangerous if they need immediate access to your airway.

Maybe they will let you wear the retainer if it has a large enough pad on to outside (big circle) with nothing to retain it in place on the inside of your nose. You might be better not asking, an

I put mine back in when I got up for my first lap around the room. I don't think they really care about jewellery after you are done with surgery.

I know this is a pretty weird topic but I just want to know if anyone can give me any knowledge. So I have to take my ring out of course for the surgery but I was told that retainers aren't meant to be worn for long periods of time. So does anyone know how many hours after surgery I should put the ring back in? Let me rephrase that, how many hours it will take before I am able to put the ring back in my nose?
