First posting here....just learning the ropes!

Wondering if anyone has suggestions on gas x product...nothing seems to touch the constant rumbling and bloating!

And heart palpitations? Possibly dehydrated?

My surgeon's NP told me that the only way to get rid of the gas is to walk it out. She said that it's not really in your pouch, but just in your abdominal area due to being pumped full of air for the surgery. I'm 3 days post-op and the walking is definitely helping!!

I had RNY on the 12th. I am happy to say I have not had any gas whatsoever as I did with VSG. But I did use the Gas X cherry creme chewables then and they definitely worked nd were safe.

I had the same gas issues after my surgery as well, for me it worked its way out with time, walking around did help quite a bit. I had the constant rumbling as well, I actually still have it from time to time it does feel a bit....odd but it does get better and subsides significantly.

Makes sure you are getting plenty of fluids, its hard for the first bit after surgery, and don't hesitate to contact your surgeon if you are having any issues.

I never took any Gas X for it. Whatever gas I had in me I let come out naturally. It works for some, it doesn't work for others. I also walked and that helped a little. I've been using heating pads too, mostly for the discomfort after eating and for the gas.

But everyone I've seen mentioned Gas X said it didn't even help them...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
