Just booked a trip to St Martin for six months from now. I used to travel a lot but haven't in the last ten years. I didn't realize how much my weight was preventing me from living.

She would advertise on the web and get listed in workout classes around town. She also taught pole dancing and she taught that too as a form of exercise. You might want to see if there is such a thing in your area.

Right, that's why I asked. I will look, thank you!

This list is great and I have so many of the same items on my list, but you have a few I'm going to add to my list now! We could seriously be friends! I wanted to mention that hot air ballooning is totally not a skinny girl thing to do. I went in October at 300+ (with my 300 lb husband) and floated over the world just the same. It was AMAZING and I can't wait to go back!!

Yes I would love to walk in heels again, take the stairs without passing out, go into a store and not have to go the plus size section!

I am just starting this journey and am finding my desire and excitmemt to be sleeved, growing each day. I am also finding that a lot of my relationship with food is incredibly mental. The first week after my initial Kaiser orentation my emotions swung like a pendulum at the thought of losing essentially my "best friend". So to combat morning the loss of food, I have decided to start a "Skinny List," a bucket list to fulfil missed opportunities. Mainly all of the things I haven't been able to do because of my weight or chose not to do because I was afraid of others judgement.
I am just curious if any others have a Skinny List, and what adventures are on it!?

OMG, I LOVE YOU, this is fantastic. I don't have a "skinny list" yet, but going to make one now. My Skinny list is to wear the 100s of cute ShirtPunch and TeeFury T-shirts I have in three bins. I'm a huge sports fan and have my championship win shirts from the Denver Broncos, Chicago Cubs (I can finally die now with a World Series win) my Pittsburg Penguins shirts. I know it might sound trivial, but literally all I want do is get back into those shirts and my wedding bands. :)

Love myself

being able to shop in "average" sizes, instead of looking for "women's world" or just look for clothing with "xxx-L" or clothing with elastic

Things I will do:

-Be confident when my fiance dips me in our house when we dance around, no more yelling 'stop! help! police!' (he's an incredible dancer, took lessons for 13 years)

-Not crying out bloody murder when he hugs me and picks me up, in fact...

I want to be able to run up to him and jump up into his arms and wrap my legs around him!!

-Do Pull-ups (like an impressive amount for a girl)

-Bust out like 50 push ups without stopping

-Do sit ups for days

-Run my dog instead of walking her

-Fit in all seats more comfortably

-Look in the mirror at the smile I always have on, instead of at my waist to check that my outfit looks okay.

-Worry that something might go wrong because I'm 'too small' instead of worrying something will break because 'I'm too fat'

-All amusement park rides, without fear that the safety handles will break and I'll go flying out.

One last weird one I can think of off the top of my head, I want to walk over ventilation grates on the sidewalk, I currently don't because I worry ones going to be positioned weird and I'll fall through.

Also, great idea for a post, kudos :)

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
