I have gone through all the hoops for the Gastric sleeve over the last 3 weeks. Monday my psych eval should be at my surgeons office and they are submitting to my insurance. The surgeon belives he can get it approved with everything we have. I am still going in for a sleep study just in case it gets denied. But I am on pins and needles thinking this could be it. I could possibly get approved.

The waiting is awful. On one hand you want to throw yourself into preparing for the surgery mentally and physically, then you're afraid to count on it too much. I was approved today and the last few weeks have been a roller coaster. Keep positive, believe with all your heart, and come to this site when you need support, that's what I did. Good Luck, sounds like you have all your bases covered and have done what you need to do. Keeping good thoughts for you!

I feel like I dont have enough "problems" for the insurance to approve it. But I trust my dr and I am trying everything not to drive myself crazy of this. I am so ready to have this surgery and start feeling better. I will be devastated if it gets denied!!!

I understand.
I am sure we can all relate to what you are feeling.
How long has this process been?
My insurance requires 6 months of working with dietician and office visits.
I have to wait until August before I can have the surgery and that is the earliest.
I hope things go well for you.
I have a high BMI, mine is currently 55
Plus I have 3 comorbidites.

My insurance only required 2 Nutrionist visits. I am currently at a 36.9 BMI with 1 comorbity and several of the life limiting comorbities. I started this journey at the end of Feb. It has gone fairly quickly but I am still so super nervous. I am exhausted from all the apts over the last 3 weeks.

Wow, I can't believe the requirements were so minimal.
I wish I didn't have to do the six months, but I suppose it will be good to get myself mentally prepared.

Thank you.
Same to you, please keep us posted.
I have a couple female cousins that had the surgery over a year ago and they have been encouraging me to get it.
My wife is supposed to have it done in April so I will be able to assist her and see how hers goes.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
