My favorite was creamy tomato soup and cream of chicken soup. Mashed potatoes are also a good option. :)

Do you have recommended foods from your team at all?

Get a list of approved foods from your surgeon. I wasn't on puree until week 3 and mashed potatos were on the following stage for soft foods.

Try to stick to high Protein foods before mashed potatoes.. im not a nurse, bariatric Doctor or any kind of specialist, however I think there are many better options than potatoes this early in the process. You need fluids and protein, potatoes can wait, if you ever eat them at all.

Hope the visit goes well and they can give you a more comprehensive list of what they feel is suitable.

Kate :)

Mashed potatoes were easy for me to stomach on the puréed stage. However I got the little cups of instant mashed potatoes and added unflavored protein from GNC to it. So I was getting a healthy dose of protein with them. Or I would purée manwich meat and put that on top. That along with re fried beans and premier protein shakes got me through the puréed stage.

Your surgeon should give you a list. If I were you, I would stick to the higher Protein options first rather than the higher carb ones.
