2 months till the big day!

Newbie here!

I'm scheduled for my sleeve on January 13, 2017. I'm so excited to change my life! Went out today and bought a GOAL dress :-) it is a size small (????) slinky little black Michael Kors number and my goal is to go on a hot date with my hubby wearing that dress next summer! He said I should put it on and take a picture so that we have something to compare it to when it actually fits!

Anyone else starting 2017 off with a life-changing bang?? Anyone else have a GOAL outfit hanging up to keep you in track?

I purchased items I thought would be my goal clothes, but I just reached goal and the clothes are too big!

I'm giving some to charity but there are a couple I'm having altered. Just know you may end up in an XS

@ I feel ya! I am nervous too. But then I catch a glimpse in the mirror or of a photo and feel a pain in my knee and I am reminded why I am doing this. I hope you get a Jan date so we can be on similar timelines and help each other along!

About a month after deciding to get surgery, I was asked to be a bridesmaid! I bought my dress at a size 24. The wedding is 9/16/17. Can't wait to get it tailored down to my new size!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
