2 weeks post VGS, I had a premier protein and felt quite ill after, is it too soon?

I will be moving to puréed after seeming my doc on Wednesday I think. I wanted to try the premiere Protein Drink because it has double the Protein Im currently getting. But afterwards I felt quite ill. Lasted about 40 minutes. Is it just too soon? It seemed simple and within my surgeons guidelines. But since it's the first I've felt like this I thought I'd check with you guys.

You should be drinking Protein shakes and Clear liquids at 2 weeks post op. You just cannot drink it like before. When i did i got air in my stomach and that hurt worse. I was drinking premier 2 days post op. I drank a 1/4 of shake at a time when i felt hungry and if i felt sick i quit drinking it a came back to it hour later

Have you had anything with lactose since your surgery? I ask because some people do develop lactose intolerance after surgery (it is usually temporary) and Premier Protein can cause problems for people who are lactose intolerant because of the type of Protein it has (whey concentrate).

Bufflehead may be right. I didnt get lactose intolerant but I remember that warning from the nutritionist

Ah... I hadn't thought of that. Hmm, ok! Now I need to start checking lactose just in case. Thanks guys!
