Support and Inspiration

Recommended Posts

Well I started this journey a few weeks ago it's consumed my life I've researched an read ridiculous amounts! Told a few close friends and family all very supportive of me which I'm very happy about instead of negative reactions! My husband also is excited for me and going to the seminar Wednesday with me. However tho I know quit a few women dealing with a lot of the same issues iam Do u mention gastric sleeve surgery to them and be inspirational and supportive in there journey or do u keep it to urself because of reactions?? I haven't blasted my news on Fb or much else where because I want people to realize the dedication n hard work I went through! What's ur thoughts??!

Welcome and best of luck with your surgery.

I am a fairly private person. I am open one-on-on with people individually, but I haven't/don't talk about my WLS on social media.

I've been pretty open despite so many ppl telling me about others who had it and gained all their weight back grrr and related negative stories. It's like really. Do you think that was the thing to share with me?? Lol I figure I rather be open bc they will see me eating different and loosing lots of weight and will ask questions so why not just tell them now but that's me idk. I also hope it will help others to change their lives too

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
