That was my first measurement at Curves.

(I didn't join curves until I got the okay, post-op in May).

I'm now riding my bike the 2 miles there, workout, and then ride the 2 miles home.

I'm loving it!!

I joined Curves 3 weeks ago and so far am loving it! I do realize that probably at the end of my year membership, I'm going to need more of a workout then what Curves offers, but at this time, it is a challenge for me and I'm sweating off the pounds. I was at a plateau when I started exercising at Curves, now I'm out of the plateau and I've lost 8 pds :jaw:in the past two weeks! So it is definitely helping me! The staff is wonderful and I love the atmosphere. And the biggest thing of all??? I can't believe I'm working out in a gym!!! This would have killed me a few months ago, and now I'm workin it!!!! :hurray:Good luck to you all!

ldeere2005 and malissa,

You are both doing great! Malissa, I am astounded that you ride four miles and then work out too. That is amazing.

I would encourage you to try the Curvesmart if it is available at your club. I do it and it is encouraging to me to keep the green light flashing and then see that I have burned between 550 and 600 calories during the workout.

I am convinced that Curves kept me from being 400lbs instead of nearly 300 lbs when I had my surgery. It also kept me flexible enough to walk instead of having to resort to a wheelchair before I had my surgery.

Keep up the good work ladies. "Change Stations Now"

I joined Curves in January and go 3-5 days a week and LOVE it! I'm still sweating and still fighting my way through plateaus, but I'm seeing muscle definition and have had to buy new clothes on a regular basis... so I'm thrilled. PLUS, like a previous poster said, I'm working out! That's the best part!!

Have any of you tried the 3phase eating program they offer? I've thought about trying that to break through the plateau....

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
