November surgery.. anyone else?

Recommended Posts

Ladies.

I am loving this very informative thread. I don't have a surgery date yet, but I have my first appt with True Results on 8/10/16. Just wondering what I should expect. How long is the process? If all goes well, will I have my surgery this year?? I am so ready to be sleeved up!!! I feel the same way as most of you ladies in this post. I have some pretty crazy fears, depression battles, etc. I really want to ride with my kids out at Six Flags, be able to run with them outside (or just run in general), and just feel better overall. I hate the way my clothes fit and how I look in pictures. I used to be so beautiful and photogenic!!!

Any information you ladies can offer me is so appreciated.

Sincerely,

Chubby in House Springs ;)

I think it's really going to depend on your insurance, if you are going through insurance. Most insurances will want you to complete 3-6 months medically supervised diet, but not always. I started my whole process the end of June and will be about 4 months from then until surgery. Unfortunately, unless you're self pay, it's just kind of a waiting game! But it gives you so much time to do your research and get prepared. I've learned more in the past month than I did in the year before I made the final decision to go through with surgery. Good luck!! Also, are you from House Springs, MO? If so, we're neighbors!!

I started my process in late May and have done all required labs and appoints with- psychologist, PA, intake doc, exercise psychologist and I will have my 3rd visit with nutritionist tomorrow. I meet with the surgeon on the 16th and after that I'll just be waiting to finish my 6th nutritionist visit.. So for myself start to finish 6 months if everything goes as planned with my insurance.. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I keep wondering how I will feel afterwards, will I ever feel like myself.. Normal again

I'm most likely looking at a November date too. Had my Welcome Group meeting last week, and have my 5 appointments that the surgeon requires set in August (2 on August 11th and 3 on August 16th.) Then i will have two Weight Management Appointments, one in September and the 2nd on October 7th. Following that, they will submit my paperwork to my insurance. I already have confirmation that my insurance will cover the surgery if I meet their requirements.

Looking forward to having energy and stamina again. Back in 2010, I lost about 70 lbs doing the Metabolic Research Center (MRC) Diet, but gradually put back 100 pounds. When I was at my lower weight then, I was working out 4-6 days a week, and working with a personal trainer. I want to get back to that, without carrying around an extra 180 pounds!

Hi. I started my 6 months waiting period in may with anticipated surgery on November 22. I will have my 4th NUT appt next week . I completed all other required appointments. I am patiently waiting in Georgia and learning as much as I can to prepare my mind and body. I hope we will all keep in touch and keep one another encouraged. This is truly a tough journey, but I am so thankful I finally got my "mind" in check in order to improve my health. STAY UPLIFTED! !

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
