Hi everyone. I had my sleeve in October of 2011. I lost almost 100 lbs and was doing great! I had been able to keep it off pretty well for a while and was feeling really good. Then, in 2014 I started developing a rash around where my excess skin was on my stomach. My surgeon told me the only way to get rid of the rash was to have the excess skin removed. So, in October of 2014, I had the skin removed and a diastase fixed. A few months later, I developed lymphocytic colitis and SIBO but took over a year to finally get rid of them! Finally, those issues are resolved but in the meantime, I've gained back about 25 lbs since then. I'm looking for motivation and suggestions to help me lose the weight again! #feelingdesperate

@@purpletmar This is a great story. I really wish I had something to add, but I am looking forward to hearing the rest of the discussion.

I am not s vet - but I have heard the 5 day reset diet works well to get things moving again,

Some say go back to basics - don't drink till 30 minutes after you eat , get your Protein up to 100, eat low carb

Start moving again or more

Good luck,

Thanks! I should also mention that this weight gain came about in the midst of my going to the gym 3xs a week! I like the idea of the 5 day rest. What is that?

I had a similar situation however I have gained about 50 lbs back and just feel so defeated. I kept my weight off for almost three years. Then my husbands career ended a month later we found out he had cancer. Then cancer surgery. Thru it all I started to use food to cope and quickly regained so much. In our area our program does not have much of a follow up program. It is all about getting you to the point of surgery. After that you are basically on you own. I am starting a new program this Friday with a new nut to help me get back on track. This is sad never thought I would be this heavy again. Dealing with obesity for a life time......surgery is not a cure-all. I have to learn to deal with stress in some other way.

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's cancer. Hopefully he will find healing soon. I've started back on the healthy track today....half of the day down and so far so good. Fingers crossed! I'll post soon. If I can do it, you can too! I'm the worst at coming up with excuses....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
