there are probably 5 million threads about this, many different opinions. I chose the sleeve because I didn't want the unused part of my stomach just hanging around in my body with no way to access it

@@Anthrogeeke Both surgeries are effective tools for weight loss. RNY is considered "the gold standard" by many surgeons, as it has been around much longer and they have been able to track its effect

In addition to everything others have said here.. I prefer the sleeve over RNY/bypass because they use a different part of your stomach to make the sleeve which makes it less prone to stretching. Bypa

I am currently scheduled for a RNY on July 13th. I'm questioning if I should switch to a sleeve. I know I need to come to the decision that works best for me, but I'm interested in why others choose the sleeve or RNY.
