  1. This challenge will run from 10-3-2016 through 10-31-16. This will give us a total of 5 weigh ins. I will do my best to post to the spreadsheet within 1 - 2 day of receiving your weight. Please note that I recalculate the figures over the weekend following the Monday weigh in - so your weight percentages may be a little off... This challenge is for everyone. If you are pre op, post op, in maintenance or looking for some accountability; this challenge is for you! The rules and link to the spreadsheet are below! Procedures: Please Post Your Starting Weight (Weight on or around 10/3) and your Goal Weight (what you would like to weigh at the end of the challenge) at the start of the challenge on 10/3 or before. If no goal weight is posted I will put down 10 pound loss as the goal. You can cut/paste this below and fill it in on your post - Goal Weight: Current Weight: Today's Date: Rules: 1. Post your weight on this thread every Monday. Specifically 10/3, 10/10, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31 2. If you change your screen name please let me know. 3. If you miss 2 or more weigh ins, I will assume you no longer want to participate and your name will be removed from the spreadsheet. 4. If you miss a weigh in on Monday, no problem. Just post it asap. 5. We are all here to support each other, if you post a question anyone can answer. 6. You will know your weight is updated on the spreadsheet once I've liked your post! The link to the spreadsheet is below! Have fun, and good luck with this challenge!!! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Awz_knYBj6MRnE78NllSsTkS2R297TEbxgKBE8MrU6w/edit?usp=sharing a few people wanted to know when the challenge started so here is your heads up! @4mybabies @Jeanette1246 @faithlovehope Disclaimer: Hosting this challenge is volunteer and I have a busy life -- if something is up or looks wrong please have patience, send a message, and I'll fix asap. My ft job, 5 year old, 5 month old, or husband may get the majority of my time but you will receive it as soon as I can, I promise! The goal is for all of us to stay motivated by accountability.
  2. I'm 11 weeks post op and am curious on calories. I'm typically getting in all my Protein but at this point am trying very hard to reduce the dependence on a Protein shake to get this in. I feel as if the benefits of real food are enough to attempt the change. My question is this... has anyone else eaten quality foods to gain protein, calories be damned? I saw a graph that said at this age post-op I should be at 500 cals per day and min 72g protein. I get my protein prescribed by my doctor (60g+) but am typically at 800 or so calories a day.... since the cals are from real, whole, foods anyone else doing this? think it's ok? had a discussion with their NUT about it? I'm just trying to determine if I"m screwing up by assuming this is ok. I've been stalled for about 2 weeks and am getting frustrated about it -- which has lead me to question this approach. Also, in case it's brought up, I'm not as active as I want to be (i.e. I cannot cut down the calories through insane working out as an option) as I have two small children who are with me at all times I'm not at work. A typical day looks like: 1 egg/2 egg white/sausage or bacon/cheese omelet (2 oz total) 2 reduced fat cheese sticks (snacks) 1 apple handful cashews 2 TB pimento cheese (or 1.5 oz turkey rolled up) whole grain crackers (14/day) 2 oz chicken breasts veggies whole grain/fiberous something (quinoa, black Beans, etc.) Thanks!

    Facial hair *women only

Look up a Tria machine if you have darker hair. Also, after fighting for many years don't be adverse to just shaving daily. I recall using cremes to get rid of it and sitting for 30 min or so to allow it to work and then hiding on day 4-5 of the week until I could do it again. Now, I just get it over with by shaving and no one knows any different. We have to do what we have to do!

    Weight loss stalls

It will happen either way -- as long as you stay to plan. My first month after surgery I lost 29 pounds... the following month has been 13.8 and 9 days into month 3 I've lost 5 lbs. There have been stretches of 3-4 days where nothing moved....but power though it mentally and you'll be fine. Everyone loses differently... unfortunately I have a whole hell of a lot to lose so it probably drops quicker. Hang in there!

    Anyone have young kids?

I had a 4 month old I had some help with but I would hold him sitting a few days after. It was a week before I'd carry him. I also have a 5 year old who just knew to stay away for a while... but he's mature and self sufficient so it was a non-issues.

Question for sleevers with a start of 350 +

HW: 416 Surgery W: 394 CW: 349 Month 1: 29 lbs Month 2: 16 lbs (9/20 was 2 month mark) Sleeved 7/20. Lost 24 lb in first two weeks from surgery. From there, I've lost 21lb in 6 weeks for a total of 45 pounds in 8 weeks, 67 since my highest weight. I would have never lost that much in 2 months otherwise, so I'm happy, but it's not as quick as I'd liked. To me, quick reduction of weight will result in more skin.... if I can lose it more slowly maybe it will snap back better.
  22. Can you pm me a few photos of the clothes? As long as they're the style I'd wear I'm interested in buying. Thanks!
