@@Lipstick lady.... I just joined and I find that you seem great. I enjoy your humor and logical thinking. I look to see your comments on threads. Now I sound borderline stalker. Err.

I love reading trashy books, real housewives, and bravo network in general.

Trying to find tasty Protein shakes has become my new hobby.

My husband is hot!

Well, here goes, in no particular order, and I'm sure I've left things out:

(and of course the fact I'm posting means I got my homework for the hated class done--- yay!!)

  • I am an outgoing introvert.
  • I am the youngest of 5 children. My oldest sibling is 19 years older than me.
  • I was born in Texas, but grew up in Alaska. Spent 18 months in Hawaii before moving back to Texas at age 10.
  • I have a really dark and dry/sarcastic sense of humor. I'd blame it on being a paramedic when I was a young adult, but to be honest I think I was born with it.
  • Mom to a 19yo daughter in college - she plans to be a physician's assistant and work ER. Incidentally, I have her to thank for my boobs... I was an almost-B before I got preggers, and have been a very full D since. (Hoping they don't deflate too far with the WLS). She also inherited my snark, which is very likely the mother's curse in action.
  • Step-mom to 4 kids ranging from 12 to 24, only the 12 year old lives close the rest are on the east coast.
  • Married a year and a half to my 3rd hubby (3rd time's the charm) we've been together 3 years, and we met on OK Cupid but then found out we had overlapping circles of friends - but not in a way we'd have ever met. Weird, huh?
  • Love cats, like dogs too. Have 2 cats and 2 dogs (all rescues, cats are tabbies, dogs are a pit bull mix and a blue heeler).
  • Have an opinion on the Oxford comma, and am not afraid to share it.
  • Have been called a grammar nazi.
  • Was a cheerleader in Jr. High.
  • Was a thespian in High School, couldn't stand cheerleaders.
  • I hate cleaning. My house usually looks like frat boys live there.
  • I don't really cook, but love baking. I typically put on 10 lbs during Christmas season. (That'll have to change...)
  • Hobbies: knitting, spinning (Fiber, not bicycles), beading, reading (fantasy, romance, sci-fi), music (lovelovelove 80's hair bands and like anything else except opera and rap), TV and movies (sci-fi mainly but love binge watching Netflix and will put the History channel on in the background when studying or doing housework), and hanging out on the internet.
  • Used to love Krav Maga, but had to quit when my knee had to be reconstructed. Don't know if any martial arts will be an option for me with my joint issues, maybe Tai Chi when I start getting more energy.
  • Used to go to renaissance faires and made my own costuming, another thing that's fallen by the wayside as my health has gotten worse.
  • Currently work in healthcare IT using my technical skills and my nursing experience.
  • Jobs/careers I have had: data entry clerk, 7-11 clerk, database designer, medical technician, executive secretary, legal secretary, paramedic, 911 dispatcher, computer report writer, data warehouse analyst, nurse in ICU and ER.
  • Majors I have declared: foreign language (though I don't speak any fluently beyond English), computer engineer, nursing (when I was 19 and again at 40), paralegal, business administration. (I finally finished an Assciate's in Nursing at age 42, then my Bachelor's in Nursing at 44, and am now in a graduate program for a Master's in Healthcare Informatics. Better late than never.)
  • Loved emergency nursing, but had to leave bedside care when I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.
  • What I wanted to be when I grew up: doctor, air force fighter pilot.
  • Musical instruments I have played: piano, ukulele, trumpet, french horn, guitar. Am trying to pick up the uke again.

Wow. Catching up on posts, and I found the original. My goodness, y'all can get into it, can't you? Though I still say y'all are pikers compared to parenting boards. LOL.

The following is a made up of a few things...

Truths...

Half truths...

Bullsh*t......

Movie quotes/song lyrics..

(No, I'll not be telling you which are which..)

Now, this may seem odd to you...

But it's probably the most accurate reflection of myself that I'll ever post in a public forum...

Ever!!

- My real name is NOT KindaFamiliar

- I was raised in the Jehovah's Witness religion but was kicked out at age 17. This resulted in me not speaking to any of my family for a number of years. That now means that I have little to no relationship with either my parents or siblings. In fact, late last year, after much mental debate, I changed my name. My middle name was my "father's" first name. It is not so any longer.

- Chicks dig me - because I rarely wear underwear, and when I do, it's usually something unusual.

- I successfully auditioned (3 callbacks) for a television show that never came to being. It was a panel/chat show and they wanted people who were "opinionated and outspoken". Weird, huh?

- I believe in the soul, the c*ck, the p*ssy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high Fiber, good scotch, that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas Eve and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days...

- I love to sing. I even enjoy karaoke. I've won many competitions. The smallest prize was a $50 bar tab. The largest was $2500 cash. I've been fortunate enough to sing on stage with Jimmy Barnes (Aussie rock royalty) and also sing karaoke with the late Slim Dusty (Aussie country GOD).

- I'm 47 years old next month and am STILL yet to decide what I wanna be when I grow up. I'm stuck between radio announcer and fire engine.

- I've not lost weight for over four months. I've not gained weight either. I've fluctuated between 106 and 110 (kilograms) lost for that entire period. It's finally starting to get to me.

- Some people play hard to get. I play hard to want. I'm really not for the faint hearted. But I'm well worth the effort.

- I actually do like big butts. But at the same time, I can lie... I'm not. But I can.

- Little horses make me smile. No, laugh. In fact, giggle like a child. It's not fake. It's a real giggle. And I love it.

- I'm not yet 'proud' of my post-WLS achievements. I've not got 'there' yet. I will. I know it. And when I do, I'll 'proud' myself until I'm blistered and spent. But until then, I'm merely pleased.

- I'm an excellent kisser.

- I'm an avid anti-violence against women campaigner. I have stepped into various situations on occasions where I thought someone's actions were inappropriate. I will always do so.

- On a related note, I've never had a black eye (despite being hit many, many times).

- I've never left Australia... But I'm in the process of getting my passport.

- I have some issues.

- I truly don't believe that you can 'be anything you want to'... But I also believe that such logic shouldn't stop you trying if it's what you want to do. Go and do whatever you like. Don't worry about upsetting or hurting others. Just know that if you do, there may be consequences.

- I recently donated 60 used (fat) polo shirts to a local shelter. Every one of them was black.

- To me, there are very few things that say summer better than eating a fresh mango in the bathtub.

- I unashamedly like Van Halen, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake et al.

- I also like Sinatra, Pavarotti and the bagpipes.

- I cry in 'The Green Mile'.

- I will answer any question openly and honestly - but it's gotta be worded correctly.

- I like me. I know my shortcomings. I know my strengths. I don't generally publicize either - but they're all there for everyone to see.

- I'm aware that this post has wandered off track and I don't care.

- Finally, I'm going to stalk someone's profile... You all know whose...

If you've got this far - WHAT THE ABSOLUTE F*CK IS WRONG WITH YOU???

Go spend some time with your family!!!

Crazy b*tches!!!

.

I have enjoyed getting to know all of you better, thank you for sharing yourselves!

-I was born in Montana but raised in Richland, Wa. Moved back to Montana in 1997 after spending a year bumming around California(the best year of my life:-)

-I have never been married and have been "in love" only once.

-I have no children but did raise my younger brother so I kind of feel I was a parent once.

-My parents divorced about 25 years ago. They have never spoken to nor have they seen each other since.

-I have spent my life so far blending in well. I have never stood out in a crowd and have worked very hard at not being noticed. If I could do it all over again I would yell loud, laugh big, wear bright colors and speak my mind.

-I was an R.N. in my younger career and went back to school later in life for Political Science. I was accepted and set to join the Peace Corp in India in 1988 but had to drop out due to family illness.

-I have a progressive form of Osteoarthritis and am disabled now. With continued joint replacements and weight loss I hope to join the workforce again.

-I have a dark sense of humor.

-I love Independent films, documentaries, T.V. dramas on Netflix("Mad Men" and "Bloodline" are my favorite) and alternative music.

-My best friend is my beloved dog Emmy:-)

-This post was really hard for me to write!

You spoke of eating mangos in the tub. I'm down in Miami and they are EVERYWHERE. My daughter rides her bike and collects them. This morning she had 22 before she got to the end of the street.

I'm going to be good and have a mango Protein smoothie. She will enjoy this...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
