Had my surgery on 5/25 (along with a hiatal hernia repair). I was knotted up pretty bad the fist day but the meds took off the edge. I was definately ready to come home to get some real rest, without being poked and prodded every hour or so. Definately not with the swing of things as of yet, more exhausted than anything. It has been a little better each day though. I was glad to actually be able to get in the 64oz of liquid the last couple of days, one small accomplishment. Seems weird to have to take 15 minutes to take my meds, was used to just chugging em' all down at once. Was pleasantly surprised to see 10lbs dissapear during my 3 days at the hopsital...it's a start.

Surgery was also on 5/25 with hernia repair. Still having spasms and pain. I haven't worked up to 64 oz, i doubt even 20 oz. I really need to get on that. I haven't lost any weight. What am i doing wrong?

you're not doing anything wrong. they pumped you full of IV fluids and who knows what else. you've got to heal, work on the fluids, then Protein. the weight *will* come off. you really need to get up on the fluids as much as possible though or it will cause loads of problems.

Thank you. I think i was dehydrated the first night home because i had two separate Migraines that night. Dr on call said i needed more Fluid and to add gatorade. But i am not still getting much down. Everything spasms on The way down. Not a good incentive to eat or drink.

nope, that makes it hard, but you just have to find a way. it should get better each day. try varying the temperature of the liquids. at that stage my tummy did best with room temperature liquids, but other tummys like hot or cold.

You may be holding onto some weight because you are dehydrated, as crazy as it sounds. The night I spent int he hospital I was dehydrated because they couldn't get the IV in and then it infiltrated (big pain in the butt). Once I was hydrated, I was peeing like crazy and the scale dropped. Hang in there and keep on sipping.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
