Surgery was today, quick question

When I take my sips of water every 5 minutes, after I swallow the water, I have a strange gurgling come back up my throat. It's not the water but just like air. Is this normal?

  • Yes, lots of weird stuff is perfectly normal! Your stomach is pretty swollen now, so even water goes down a little weird at first

I literally sound like Chewbacca. I don't think anyone around me can hear me though. Lol Sent from my SM-G935V using the BariatricPal App

Not to mention you've been inflated with gas for them to operate. Even after that goes away you still swallow air. This hasn't completely went away for me yet. I'm a month and 4 days postop.

I am 2+ weeks out and still gurgling and rumbling. At first I was sort of embarrassed by it and kept apologizing to my husband and then after a few days I was like, OH PULEAZE, I had this surgery so I can be happy and healthy FOR OUR FAMILY....suck it up!! :-)
