  1. I am four months out and as of about 3 weeks ago, my hair has started shedding tremendously. I am about to the point where I am just going to cut it off. It's become unmanageable.
  2. So, I am at 49% of my weight loss goal, I am four months post op. SW was 265 (Highest weight was 270 before i started the program) and current weight is 203. I have been at 203 for 2 weeks now and can NOT seem to get this to go down at all. How can I get over this plateau? I want to be in onederland so bad. lol. I exercise atleast 4 days a week-usually 5 and eat the same things and always watch what I eat.
  3. @@KristenLe Thank you girl! I am definitely super excited about my progress. I eat about 90g of protein a day. Maybe 25-30g carbs a day. You're right about maybe needing to change things up. I drink atleast 100 oz of water a day. So I definitely feel like I'm doing things right but just cant seem to get below 200. Lol. I usually eat the exact same things everyday for every meal so i might switch some things out.
  4. @@mohairbears those aren't NSAIDS though and codeine is something I would rather avoid for soreness or headaches.
  5. Im almost 3 months post op (down almost 40 pounds ????) and have started the couch to 5k program and am doing really well so far besides the fact that I get so sore in my groin area after running (this has never happened to me before when working out). I know we can't take anti inflammatories but Tylenol doesn't do jack for the soreness. Any recommendations? I soak in the bath, i stretch but I need something to help with the soreness
  6. I feel like Tylenol is a wimp period. It never helps me
  7. Have any of you suffered from long periods post op? My last period was 3 weeks long (it ended on July 11th) and I'm going on day 10 of my period now. It's so annoying.
  8. Whenever I eat my meals, I get full, but then around an hour and a half to two hours later, I'm hungry and my NUT told me not to eat any Snacks I'm also stalling and havent dropped any weight in a week. What am I doing wrong?
  9. Maybe I'm having head hunger? Every program does things extremely differently I guess because my nutritionist told us in diet class not to drink any protein shakes because they will just go right through your pouch. I do have a PPI, but just haven't been taking it because I haven't had any problems with reflux. Maybe I should start it again.
  10. She told me not to make snacking a habit, but I get hungry after breakfast and lunch and have been snacking anyway (on healthy things of course like cheeses and nuts) I'm drinking 96+ oz of water a day, so I know its not thirst.
  11. I am 16 days post op and feel awesome, I am past the liquid phase and actually able to eat food again. I am just curious how some of you get all of your Protein in without shakes (my NUT does not want me drinking shakes due to the fact that that are considered a "slider") every meal I eat is protein, but I can only get severaly bites in before I am full, so I get maybe like 6g of protein in a meal? For example: Breakfast- Could only manage 1/2 of an egg Lunch- 1/3 canned chicken and 1/2 cheese stick Dinner-2 oz of salmon Help! lol. I have unflavored Protein powder, but was told not to eat slider foods and cant really add protein powder to the dense Proteins?
  12. I am four weeks post-op and feel the same. I am usually hungry about an hour to an hour and a half after I eat. It is so frustrating.
  13. I am three weeks post op and have felt awesome this whole time except for last night and today. I have had diarrhea and nausea like no other. I'm running to the bathroom like every 15-20 minutes and water is making me nauseous. Also some abdominal cramping. Has anyone had anything similar? What ended up happening?

    Maybe TMI?

I'm just so worried that I am going to get too dehydrated. I am in the bathroom every 5-10 minutes with BAD issues lol. I feel so awful.

    Maybe TMI?

I called and he said if I'm not better by tomorrow to go ahead and go to the hospital. Whatever this is it's awful, I've only had maybe 35 oz of fluid today and am supposed to have 96, but feel sick everytime I drink water.
  16. I'm only 3 weeks out and feeling great! Best decision of my life.
  17. Thank you everyone for all the input! I am just trying to get in as much meat as possible. My surgeon tells us to only eat 3 meals, but I find that hard. For the post op veterans - how big are your bites now? do you still take tiny tiny bites? I find that to be SO hard also. I dont have a problem waiting in between bite, but when i take a bite the size of my pinky nail i feel like im not even eating anything.
  18. I'm definitely gonna try the nutritional yeast!
  19. I haven't had shrimp yet! I didn't know when would be a good time to start eating shellfish. But I'm always afraid I'm going to over eat because full feels so much different now than it used to. So I usually eat a couple ounces and just stop. @@LipstickLady

    Question

I have not had any emotional issues, but SERIOUSLY dont freak out if you step on the scale and there is minimal change from surgery. Today was my two week post op and I'm only down 7 pounds from surgery and was not too excited with the numbers. My doctor told me that is completely normal and the first couple of weeks are not to focus on weight loss, but to focus on your stomach healing. She said once I'm eating regular food I will lose the weight. She also said I will have a stall now that I'm starting soft solids.
  21. I am 10 days post op eating puree'd foods and I don't ever feel "full" everyone said "you will know when you need to stop eating" but I don't feel that way. I never feel super full. Is this normal?
  22. @@MCSleeve81 I don't know what plan your surgeon has you on but a lot of surgeons have different diet plans. Yesterday was the first day I had any mushies. But just had a protein shake for breakfast and definitely got full. I definitely think I just need time to find out what I'm used to.
  23. I haven't been burpy or anything but was able to eat a whole 4 oz of puree'd refried beans and was concerned if that's considered a lot for only being this far out? I don't mean "super full" I guess maybe "fully satisfied" would have been better words
  24. To not lose any weight the first week post op? I had my surgery 05/24 and have lost maybe a pound but it fluctuates. I'm getting all of my fluids in.
  25. After such a long process and jumping through all the hoops you have to jump through for WLS, I am finally here. I am freaking out, but am so excited. I am 21 years old and have been struggling with my weight since I can remember. I am engaged and we have a wonderful 3 year old boy. I am tired of being this way and want my son to see me grow up healthy and happy. Wish me luck I am so ready for this journey to a better life for my family and I.
