Had my band converted to sleeve yesterday!

Recommended Posts

I am supposed to have my band removed tomorrow also; sleeve to be done only if it is safe. :( I hope I wake up sleeved!

How are you feeling otherwise?

I was converted on the 10th also. Pretty sore still. Said my stomach was a mess of twists that took them awhile to undo before they could sleeve. Just glad to be done!

I was converted on may 11. I am sore and kinda grumpy. I am having a lot of trouble meeting my Protein goal, and this is only day 1.

I was converted on may 11. I am sore and kinda grumpy. I am having a lot of trouble meeting my Protein goal, and this is only day 1.

My doc told me to not worry about Protein until full liquids. Today was day 1 of those and I struggled! Couldn't finish but half a shake.

Don't feel as sore today but had major breakdown with hubby. Just lost it. Mix of everything I think hit me. Better now and tomorrow is another day. Hopefully I'll do better with goals! Good luck to you!

I promise it gets easier.... i thought i would never be able to meet my Protein and Water... especially water... but after about a week it got a lot easier once the swelling went down.

Its a stressful time for your body... emotions will be out of whack.. be kind to your body and give it time to heal

Im 3 weeks out now... i cant even tell ive had surgery until i eat... the only reminder i have is when i feel i have had enough food... i know.

Hang in there... promise it'll get easier

I think everyone is different... for me it when i am feeling content with the amount ive eaten, which depending on the density is around 1/4 a cup for meaty soft foods and 1/2 a cup for mushy purees... its hard to explain but its a comfortable fullness.

I made a major mistake last night where i tried to eat one extra bite.... it took me over the edge and i felt soooo uncomfortable

Hello,

does anyone know it Aenta pays for revision surgery and if so, do you have to complete the entire process again, as if you were having the surgery for the 1st time?

Hi,

I think all insurance companies have requirements for conversion surgery. I just had my band converted to a sleeve 6 days ago. I'm so glad it is gone, but the whole process is an ordeal. So many hoops to jump through and then the surgery itself was rough for me. I have BCBS Fed. If you call member services on your insurance card or look in your patient benefit book, it should outline the requirements. @@Felisha602

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
