It's nights like this where I get so frustrated about my eating issue. I made a very good homemade macaroni and cheese, half Pasta, halt riced cauliflower, tons of cheese, butter and Creme fresh, Parmesan cheese all in the oven, my all house smells so good, instead I eat 1 Japanese potato, that's my dinner. ????????????????????

I eat a Japanese potato is very different then a potato that was my dinner. I'm 14 mo out and I still can't eat much. pizza, Pasta, rice bread makes me so full I feel like I explode if I eat it, so I don't. meat, chicken, fish comes up after 5 min, sweets give me severe dumping. So I'm left with nuts, Beans, zucchini, salad, avocado, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese. What a heck???? Sorry I'm venting

What has your surgeon or nutritionist said about that? That's a lot of food you can't tolerate, you poor thing.

The nutritionists is worry and told me to eat every hr. My surgeon is fine with it. He said that some people can't tolerate foods. The thing is that now that I start work out I'm getting hungry but I can't eat much.

Have you tried going back to softer meats/lean Proteins? Meatballs, ground lean meat, chicken pulsed in the processor w/something to keep it moist? I'm only about 2 months out, and I'm able to get those down. I was always told if you can't keep those down, there may be issues with the opening into your pouch not being big enough (and a dilation may be needed).

I had 3 restrictions, gastroenterologist under my surgeon directions, went in with endoscopy and balloon enlarge 3 times about every 3 months. The opening its very small, I try lots of different options. But thank you for the advices. Some days I get very frustrated some days I'm ok, after 14 months I got used it

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
