So, I'm down to a size 16W, and my pre-surgery bras are starting to not work. I was wearing a 40DDD (probably should have worn a 42DDD). I'm now a 38DD, but I'm so reluctant to buy Casique or Victoria's Secret bras, knowing I'll be out of them in a few months.

Anyone have any good, inexpensive brands I should try? I checked out Maidenform, but the bands are just too flimsy. I need a solid, not stretchy band that can hold the girls up. Should I just buy some Casique bras off eBay?

Are you sure your size is a 38DD? Have you been measured by someone good? and I don't mean at Lane Bryant. Like at a lingerie store, or Soma?

Bras can make you look so much slimmer, I don't mind spending $40-60 on one, even knowing it won't fit soon. They make such a huge difference in how you look in clothes that they are worth spending the money.

If you are sure about your exact size, then buy one from ebay. There are new bras for around $20 on ebay all the time.

Also, bras aren't meant to be worn that long. The heat from your body destroys them. Bras should be replaced every 6-8 months, if you aren't wearing them every day and are rotating them. You shouldn't wear the same bra more than one day in a row, so it can reshape. If you are wearing the same bra daily, it won't last longer than 2 or 3 months. Just because you can still wear a bra, doesn't mean it is still working at a optimal level.

I worked at a high-end lingerie store in college, so I measured myself. 38DD. ;)

I got measured at Soma and bought some when they had a sale (and I had a coupon). I think I ended up paying $22 each. If you're sure of your measurements then maybe just go to Target or Walmart and try some one? Although i was wearing the wrong size for years, Target bras were always comfortable to me.

That's a good idea... I'll sign up for their mailing list.

TJ Maxx has VERY good bras for less than 10$ a pop.

Soma will measure you to get your bra size, so will Nordies. :-)

I am fitting the bras I bought but were too small, will need new ones soon.

That is SUCH a good idea! I'm not used to shopping at places like that, since they never had my size! I will check that out!

I am at my goal weight and really need some new bras. I am sure it would help to get professionally measured. But since my boobies hang down so horrible and the skin situation is a sad affair I don't have the nerve to subject some poor retail worker to the horror of them. Guess it's gonna be trial and error for me [emoji22]

Find a lingerie store that works with women post breast cancer. They have seen everything and are very good at measuring. They can usually tell your size just by looking at you braless.

Trust me when I tell you, an experienced fitter has seen everything. Get yourself professionally fitted, it makes such a difference.

I have a friend who lost 150# post GBP. She tells me she "rolls 'em up like socks" to get them into the bra.

I'm in your boat except I'm not at goal. My girls have really taken a hit with my loss so far. The thought of some poor woman having to deal with me and my saggy baggies is mortifying. To try to be price aware I think I've tried on every bra Kohls carries. I've bought a few but nothing is fitting right. I have severe cup issues (quad boob in the front center with a gigantic empty cup gapping space by my arm pits...not sure how it can seem to small and too big simultaneously)

A good bra takes 10 lbs off you. No reason to scrimp or not wear the right size. The comfort of a good bra is life changing too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
