My band hates everything except Soup...maybe I am too tight, I dont know..but the only other thing that hasnt come up is salad...

Any suggestions? So far I've tried broccoli, chicken, corn, tuna...oh, and bread...that def was a killer... None of these things went through...

What do you veterans suggest?

I had my 1st fill on Monday...

According to my doc, he considers too much restriction to be an emergency and he then wants to take some fill out! You may want to call your doc and see what he suggests! You should be able to eat something! I know he also says fluids for a few days after a fill. Not sure, because I haven't had one yet and won't til I am 6 weeks out! Best wishes with everything!:)

Yes you may very well be a tad too full, but I have a question for you...are you giving your stomach time to heal and unswell (not sure that is a real word...) following one of the episodes where something does not stay down? Many times it will take a day or 2 or even longer following a serious PB where you actually throw it up, for the stomach to return to normal, and during that time you should be on strictly liquids. If it is swelling, and you attempt to eat again, it will not be able to pass, and cause yet another PB, and make the swelling even worse...it makes an evil cycle.

Maybe try a few days of liquids, it sometimes helps everything settle back in, then on to mushies, and try solid Protein again after the break. If it is still a no go, then I would say that some fill needs removed.

Good Luck---Keep us posted!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
