Extra small stomach

Recommended Posts

I had Gastric sleeve surgery August 5th and since then have lost 81 pounds. My problem is I'm having a difficult time trying to find what to eat. I was throwing up everything I ate and was malnutritioned. The doctor did an ex ray while I swallowed a pill just to see if there were any obstructions. There weren't but he said my stomach is smaller than usual and the food is getting stuck in the bend of my stomach. When the doctor showed me my stomach on the ex ray it looked like a vein it was so small. Now I'm having a difficult time trying to get 70 grams of Protein a day when some days food will stay down with pain and some days I throw up everything all day even the Protein Shakes if their to thick. Has anyone had this problem? If so please tell me what you did to get 70 grams of protein a day.

Add Protein Shots powder to the Isopure. Also try coconut Water and try adding Protein shots/non flavored protein. At least you won't feel dehydrated.

I had a RNY gastric bypass 31 months ago. I found it a little difficult to consume foods and when I talked with his nurse several months ago, she said that my surgeon was known to make the pouches a little bit smaller. It wasn't so bad that it brought on malnutrition so I am content. The suggestion from my dietician was to eat more meals a day than 3. I relied on softer foods, primarily chili and Soups. These went down easier. So here is a link that contains some recipes at the end.

Also your daily Protein requirement is met by a combination of the Protein from supplements (protein shakes, protein bars) and the protein you obtain from meals. So if you concentrate on high protein meals, it means that you do not need to consume as much protein from supplements.< /p>

I agree smaller, more frequent meals and dilute anything that's too thick.

If you are looking for a good shake, try Isopure...it is more like apple juice consistency (clear liquid) and has 40g of Protein per 20 fl oz bottle.

Protein shots are small, concentrated liquid Protein, just enough for a couple of gulps. They come in tiny bottles like airplane liquor. Different flavors are available.

I make my own smoothies every morning in the blender, with fresh fruit and almond milk...

35 - 40 grams of Protein every day to start the day....getting the rest is easy.

Not to mention the nutritional boost I get...

Been doing that for almost 5 years now.

i had a lot of vomiting until just the last 2 months. Even a Vitamin pill on a small meal could make me heave. (Sleeved 1//15) The first 7 months I ate very small meals all day, maybe up to 5 and a snack or two. AND Syntax fuzzy navel Protein drink saved me, still does. I have one as soon as I get up and one just before I go to bed.

However after the honeymoon phase (8 or so months post-op) and I was able to eat more I had to watch it.

At my last checkup I was concerned that my stomach had stretched a little. Doc said it my have needed to stretch cuz of a small tummy but to be careful not to stretch it any more. So now I do the 4 small meals and a snack. If I eat too much now (AND THAT MIGHT BE JUST ONE BITE!) I vomit.

Best wishes and congrats on the great weight loss. Enjoy the restriction while you have it.

@@B-52 What exactly do you put in your shake. Just curious because fruit is not high in Protein and it would take a lot of almond milk to get a great deal more of Protein. Do you add Protein powder?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
