My surgery was 10/22/15 I had no complications and actually everything went better that I had thought. When I started the program in 3/2015 I weighed 298 pounds my heaviest ever. I had trouble breathing and just life. On my surgery date I was 255

At my one month post op I was 233 I have my 2 month post op 12/17 and as of today I'm 224 and have been that for a week and a half......I'm frustrated...I'm exercising and following my diet except yesterday I nibbled a sample of one of my Xmas Cookies I had just made(new receipt)

The guilt was awful.

Also how long does it take to get taste back ??? Everything taste awful and my pouch is funny something I ate one day may make me sick the next....I can't live on shakes forever

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Congratulations on your weight loss so far. It is common to experience stalls during your weight loss. So stay calm and let the magic continue to happen. I do not know if you ever completely get your taste back, but you will recover most of it over a year or two. I found combining foods such as in chili and Soups will provide you with good flavor. I am including links to a couple articles that describe my journey. They may be of some help.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
